Feisty Beta Review By Charl Botha

Charl Botha wrote a really decent review of Feisty Beta. It stands out in the crowd by being both accurate in the criticism and by covering what's important. Feisty is being praised for ease of installation and wireless support. Criticism focuses mainly on occasional poor hardware support (dynamic dual-screen and some peripherals).

Overall a very good read. Take your time to read the comments, too - some are pretty informative.

Ubuntu ShipIt accepts orders for Feisty

In case you haven't heard, Ubuntu has shipped free CDs since its first release, 4.10 (Warty Warhog). They have just started to accept advance orders for the upcoming release - 7.04 (codename Feisty Fawn), which is scheduled to hit FTP servers around the world in 8 days (April 19th). CDs from shipit have always looked really impressive - it's a good idea to give a few to your friends to introduce them to Linux.

This time CDs are available in three different flavors - Ubuntu, Kubuntu and Edubuntu. You can get up to 3 discs if you use a regular order. For larger orders (serious distribution), use the special request form.

Let's See How It Goes

I've been interested in everything Ubuntu-related for quite some time. Everyday, there are at least a few articles showing up here and there, but our community lacks a site that would gather all those news in one place. Ubuntu News' first goal is just that - to provide one place (and one RSS feed) to make searching for news easier.

Right now the plan is simple - I'll try to write a few pieces each day. If I won't give it up after few weeks, I'll think about expanding it and looking for some other people to cooperate. Let's see if I'll be able to write something on a regular basis... or if I've wasted those couple bucks for a domain ;)
